for its FW16 presentation in paris, dior continues its collaboration with bureau betak for the show’s set and venue design. in past years, the parisian spatial designers have conceived scenography that included a living orchid wall, a gaudi-esque, smooth white sanctuary, and a sci-fi style grid for the luxury fashion house.

 

for this year’s paris fashion week, bureau betak has realized a colossal mirror-clad structure situated within the louvre’s ‘cour carrée’. the arrangement of reflective panels echo abstract images of the surrounding historic site, forming an immersive and experiential atmosphere as spectators arrive. visitors enter the venue through large tubes that tunnel inside a dramatic and dimly-lit chamber. once within, a sequence of rounded metal apertures provide a runway for models to walk through, flanked by stepped seating from which viewers watch the show.
